Rajasthan hires Greg Chappell for its academy

The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has hired Greg Chappell and Ian Fraser to work at its Centre of Excellence. It is learnt that Chappell, who quit as India coach after the World Cup in the Caribbean and is currently with the Australian Centre of Excellence in Brisbane, will begin a six-month tenure from October 1.
Fraser, who was Chappell's assistant during the India stint, will be working on a near-fulltime basis.
The move does not come as a surprise, it had been in the works for a while. Chappell had been quoted by the IANS agency in July saying, "I am negotiating with Lalit [Modi, president of the RCA] but will not meet with him until next month regarding his academy."
Soon after he quit the India job, Chappell had given a presentation to the Indian board which emphasised the importance of fitness and the development of youth. Chappell was subsequently offered a position at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
The RCA has spent Rs 20 crore (US$ 5 million) on its academy in Jaipur , where the Centre of Excellence is housed. The academy is reported to have 20 outdoor pitches and 25 indoor pitches, and it's completely floodlit enable cricket matches at any time of the day.
